Creosote build-up is the leading cause of chimney fires in Australia. Every time you burn wood, creosote — a flammable by-product of combustion — deposits on the inside of your flue. Over time, this build-up becomes a serious fire risk.
Regular chimney cleaning removes creosote, soot, blockages and debris, restoring proper airflow and reducing the risk of chimney fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. The general recommendation is at least once a year — more often if you burn frequently.
